Trolley/Buggy Policy from 1st November 2018

(Scroll down for Frost Green Policy)

The Club prides itself on seeking to offer golf throughout the year without any constraints on players as far as possible. However, weather conditions do on occasions require that the Club must protect the course from over-use and severe erosion from golfing traffic through temporary restrictions on the use of trolleys and buggies.

The Greens Committee has reviewed the existing policy and has determined that from 1 November 2018 the policy will comprise three Stages:

  • Stage 1: All types of trolleys and permitted buggies may be used
  • Stage 2: Carry bag only
  • Stage 3: Course closed

Course conditions will be reviewed on a daily basis and the decision regarding which Stage is in force will be made by the Head Greenkeeper or the General Manager. The Stage in force for each day will be advertised on the website and by signage on the 1st tee.

To help reduce unnecessary wear and damage to the course members are requested to route their trolleys and buggies outside the fenced and taped off areas, use recognised pathways and avoid any areas of heather and muddy or damaged areas.

Note 1: The policy does not allow for any medical or age exemptions.

Note 2: Complying with the DDA 2010, disabled players may use trolleys or buggies when Stage 2 is in force. Upon request, such players are required to provide valid proof of disability (such as a Blue Badge) AND, in the case of buggies, a certificate of insurance for use of such equipment on the course. In the event that such documentation cannot be provided the player may be refused leave to play.
