Local Rules (dated 1 January 2019)

The Rules of Golf apply (effective 1st January 2019)

1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18 & Definition)

a) Beyond any fence, hedge & white stakes defining the boundary of the Course, including the quarry behind the 1st green.
b) On or over any road; even if a ball finishes on another part of the Course.

2. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (Rule 16)

a) Areas of the course defined by white lines and/or signs.
b) All stone walls and any artificial stacked turf faces in bunkers are ‘Integral Objects’.
c) Electrified fences surrounding greens are Immovable Obstructions (Rule 16.1b applies); if a ball strikes the fence, of the green being played, the stroke MAY be replayed.
d) Animal dung or hoof marks - If a ball lies in contact with animal dung or hoof marks in the General Area, or in Bunkers, or if it interferes with a player’s area of intended swing, relief is allowed under Rule 16.1a. Interference does not exist when animal dung or hoof marks only interferes with player’s Stance.
e) Anywhere on the course, except when ball is in a Penalty Area, relief under Rule 16.1(2) is allowed from anything artificial (man-made), including artificial surfaces, paths, bridges, granite posts and irrigation apparatus.
f) Relief MUST be taken from Fairway boundary lines, in accordance with Rule 16.1a.
g) Aeration Holes - If a player’s ball lies in or touches an aeration hole the player may take relief in the General Area under Rule 16.1b or on the Putting Green under Rule 16.1d.

3. EXCEPTIONS - There is no relief under Rule 16.1 when:

(i) playing the ball as it lies is clearly unreasonable because of something other than an abnormal course condition, (e.g. a gorse bush) or,
(ii) interference exists only because a player chooses a club, type of Stance or swing or direction of play that is clearly unreasonable under the circumstances.
(iii) interference exists only when animal dung, hoof marks, fairway boundary lines or aeration holes interfere with the player’s Stance.
