Lowe hits the Heights

There were 114 competitors for this month’s medal and the annual playing of the Wiltshire Shield. The best net score decides the shield with the runner up also being recognised. There were ten players all in with a shout of claiming this trophy but as with all things there is only one winner and that honour fell to Andy Lowe. His fabulous net 68 finished a shot ahead of the runner up spot, which was claimed by Anthony O’Toole. Anthony’s great round, which included birdies at the 5th & 17th holes, secured second place on count back from nine others which included Mark Harrington who, shot the lowest gross score of the day. Wiltshire shield winner, Andy Lowe, owed his performance to his excellent short game and holing some long putts. Also of note on the day was a brilliant hole-in-one at the 6th hole by Matthew Bodily. Matt in his first year of golf at Yelverton shot his first hole-in-one and showed off the promise for a very bright future in golf.
